1. All Container’s are numbered and registered at the City office and Virgin Valley Disposal to the Street address to which they were issued. If a container is lost or destroyed, it will be the responsibility of the resident to replace the container through the City of Mesquite at the retail cost to the city.
2. Your containers need to be brought to the public access road in front of your house before 6:00 a.m. on the day of the week that your container is serviced. Virgin Valley Disposal Inc. will pick up on the following schedule:
Monday - Residents on the West side of Riverside Rd, South of I-15 Freeway
Tuesday - Residents on the East side of Riverside Rd to the West side of Arrowhead South of I-15 Freeway.
Wednesday - Residents on the East side of Arrowhead Lane South of I-15 Freeway
Thursday -Residents on the North side of I-15 freeway
If the container is not out in front of your house it cannot be picked up, and Virgin Valley Disposal will not return to service the container(s) until the next scheduled service date.
3. Containers need to be placed in a clear area. The Collection Truck must be able to get within ten (10) feet of the container. The container should be placed away from cars, posts, fences, trees, etc. Those with two (2) containers need to place the containers at least three (3) feet apart. If a container is inaccessible to the collection vehicle, it is the owner or occupant’s responsibility to move the container to an accessible and approved location for service. Containers that are blocked will not be serviced until the next scheduled service.
4. IMPORTANT!!! CONTAINERS NEED TO BE ON THE EDGE OF THE STREET ON THE OILED PORTION, NOT ON THE SIDEWALK OR AGAINST THE CURB. THE ARROW ON THE LID OF THE CONTAINER MUST BE FACING THE STREET.
5. All garbage should be inside the container with the lid closed. Use only the container provided. Other containers cannot be handled by the special truck! You will be able to put more garbage in the container if you will break down boxes, milk cartons, and other bulk items. There can be NO HAZARDOUS waste placed in the container. Some items that are considered hazardous are paints, oils, batteries and pesticides. These items need to be taken to the landfill and they will be handled as special waste. Just take your container number with you to the landfill and you can dump free of charge.
Garbage service is mandatory within the City limits, and is automatically billed to you. If you need a garbage container please contact the Sanitation Department for the container to be delivered to your residence.
