The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and the City of Mesquite, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration and the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, began construction on the I-15 Interchange 120 in Mesquite earlier this summer.
The West Mesquite Design-Build project will require temporary closure of Falcon Ridge Parkway over a 56-hour period beginning at 10:00 a.m. on January 23rd and ending at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. The temporary closure of Falcon Ridge Parkway will mark the completion of accelerated bridge construction at Interchange 120, a key milestone for the West Mesquite Design-Build Project.
Expect the following changes in the area:
From January 23rd at 10:00 a.m. to January 25th at 6:00 p.m., Falcon Ridge Parkway will be closed to accommodate bridge construction. All lanes on Falcon Ridge Parkway will be closed during this time period. Motorists are encouraged to use the Grapevine Overpass as the recommended detour route.
From January 23rd at 6:00 a.m. to January 25th at 6: 00 p.m., North bound traffic on I-15 will be unable to exit at Interchange 120. Motorists may exit North bound I-15 at Interchange 122. South bound I-15 access to Interchange 120 will remain unaffected during this time period.
On January 23rd from 6:00 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m. North bound traffic on I-15 will be reduced temporarily to one lane to accommodate the opening of ramp detours at Interchange 120.
Adam Searcy, NDOT Project Manager, encourages diligence and patience during this important phase of construction. “Our project team is very excited to complete bridge construction, a key milestone of project delivery. However, we realize that closures affecting access are never pleasant and have taken that into consideration by limiting the last phase of bridge construction to a 56-hour time period. We strongly encourage residents and motorists to be patient during the closure of Falcon Ridge Parkway and to be cautious while observing detour signs. Safety is our number one priority.”
