Mesquite Police arrest local man for Marijuana

Mesquite Police Officers responded to the area of Sun Valley apartments at approximately 10:30 pm Thursday, January 5th after receiving a call of a suspicious person.
The caller stated that an unknown male wearing dark pants and a hooded jacket kept walking back and forth between Sun Valley and the Mesquite Bluffs Apartments and it was believed that the unidentified male was possibly dealing drugs.
Officers arrived in the area and observed an adult male fitting the description walking towards Sun Valley and then start running when he saw the police vehicle. Officers then contacted a witness who had detained the suspect who had removed his hooded jacket and had been hiding from police.
Officers detained Raymond Adrian, 22, of Mesquite for questioning. Officers retrieved Adrian’s jacket which was discarded nearby and found evidence of marijuana in the pocket. Officers then proceeded to Adrian’s residence and detected a strong odor of marijuana when Adrian’s spouse opened the door.
After receiving written consent to search the residence from Adrian officers discovered several bags containing close to one pound marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Adrian also had $260.00 cash in his possession.
Adrian was charged with Sales of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Adrian was transported the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas without incident.
