Free Pickleball Clinic on June 11Monday, June 06, 2011 Sun City Mesquite and the Mesquite Leisure Services Department will host a free Pickleball clinic from 8-10 a.m., on Saturday, June 11, at the Sun City Mesquite Pickleball Courts at 1350 Flat Top Mesa. Pickleball is a combination of table-tennis, tennis and badminton. It is played in schools, parks and recreation centers, camps and retirement communities. “We suggest participants bring folding chairs and bottled water,” said John Ramirez. “People of all ages and athletic abilities enjoy playing Pickleball and, after a few minutes of instruction, a beginner can enjoy a game with a more experienced player.” Ramirez said that Pickleball is a fantastic way to exercise and spend time with friends and family and that grandparents can enjoy a competitive game with grandchildren.
