The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Fugitive Team arrested an Arizona man wanted in connection with a drive by shooting that occurred in Mesquite last week.
Freddy Armora, 19, of Beaver Dam, Arizona was apprehended on Wednesday, November 30th near the intersection of South Normandie Avenue and West Slauson Avenue in Los Angeles, California without incident.
Armora was arrested on a Mesquite warrant which he faces charges for Attempted Murder with a Deadly Weapon, Discharging a Firearm from a Vehicle, Discharging a Firearm into a Vehicle, Conspiracy to Commit Murder with a Deadly Weapon, Conspiracy to Discharge a Firearm from a Vehicle, and Conspiracy to Discharge a firearm into a Vehicle. All charges also include the enhancement of the Intent to Promote or Assist a Criminal Gang.
When the Fugitive Team took Armora into custody they informed him he was being arrested for the incident in Nevada, and Armora responded “I know.”
Based on the criminal charges filed by Mesquite Police Armora will also be facing additional charges from the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Division of Parole and Probation for violation of probation on charges of Attempt to Carry a Concealed Weapon.
“This is another fine example of several different Law Enforcement Agencies working together to keep the bad guys off the street,” said Chief Troy Tanner. “Our goal is to keep Mesquite and its neighbor’s safe so citizens and visitors alike can enjoy what the city has to offer.”
