Night Work Scheduled for West Mesquite Interchange (Exit 120)

Due to the recent spike in extreme temperatures there has been night work scheduled for construction of soil nail walls on the West Mesquite Interchange (Exit 120) project. Access through the project will remain as it is now and will not be further impacted during the night time hours.

Adam Searcy, NDOT’s Project Manager for the interchange stated, “The high temperatures during the day can cause acceleration in the drying process in freshly poured concrete. This acceleration may not allow the concrete to set properly. We hope to avoid any issues by pouring concrete during the lower temperatures at night.”

The contractor, W.W. Clyde, Inc., expects to work at night between the hours of 10:00 pm and 10:00 am, Monday thru Friday, until the soil nail walls are finished. Currently weekend work is not expected.
