Online Golf Tournaments Now Happening at the Mesquite Recreation CenterThursday, August 19, 2010 The Mesquite Recreation Center has received a software upgrade to their Full Swing Golf Simulator that now allows you to play tournaments online. “The simulator upgrade is unbelievable,” said Rich Bohne, Recreation and Parks Director. “You can now play in a host of online tournaments that are sponsored by Full Swing Golf and played by simulator users across the world. There are participants from Japan, Dubai, Brazil, Sweden, Germany, etc. and all you need to do is push a button and you’re in the tournament, seeing your name posted on the leaderboard somewhere.” The computer updates the leaderboard after every hole and your score is recorded automatically. “It’s a lot of fun, and brings a real competitive spirit to the game. It’s even more fun when you play the event with a friend or two,” added Bohne. To register as an online tournament player, go to www.fullswinggolftour.com and register to play. You will get a username and password that you can punch into the simulator and choose the tournament you want to play that day. The computer will keep your online handicap automatically and you can track your progress as you improve. The new upgraded simulator also has a new practice module that allows you to set your target at any distance, and also allows for practice putting and chipping. You can also play any of the 37 courses just for fun, without the tournament format. For more information on the golf simulator, contact the Recreation Center at 346-8732. |
