STOP DUI organization donates Portable Breath Testing Units to Mesquite Police Department

STOP DUI donated five portable breath testing (PBT) units this week to the Mesquite Police Department (MPD). Additionally, two dozen pairs of handcuffs engraved with "STOP DUI" were presented by Executive Director, Sandy Heverly to MPD.

According to MPD Public Information Officer Robert W. Everett, STOP DUI is extensively involved with many different facets of drinking and driving prevention. The organization helps with victim assistance, education and awareness, DUI checkpoints and pursues legislation which will benefit victims of crime in general, but particularly the victims of DUI offenders.

“Sandy has dedicated years to combating the crime of Driving Under the Influence and we applaud her efforts and all the others involved with the STOP DUI organization.” said Everett. “We are very appreciative to Sandy and STOP DUI for their generous gifts to the police department.”

STOP DUI is a Nevada grassroots non-profit organization and more information about STOP DUI is available at www. stopdui.org.
