Donna Fairchild returns to the Mesquite City Council after a two year absence. Donna first served the citizens of Mesquite from 2001 to 2007 and chose not to run in 2007 to help her mom who was battling cancer. Donna's Mom is now cancer free.
Donna says, "Thank you to everyone who helped in my effort to run for city council. From those who helped financially, to those who put out signs or told friends and family to vote for me. I am very grateful and honored that you chose to support me."
Donna is a 10 year resident of Mesquite, moving here with her husband, Bill, after they both retired from the Denver Police Department in 1999. Many of you know Bill from the Mesquite Recreation Center, Virgin Valley Honor Guard and VFW. The Fairchilds have been married for almost 21 years.
Donna was born in Munich, Germany, and lived in Dover, DE; Izmir, Turkey and Denver, CO before making Mesquite home. Donna's father was a military police officer for 23 years and her mother is a registered nurse who retired after 50 years in nursing. Donna credits her parents for inspiring her to chose a life of public service. Her life experience includes being an EMT/Paramedic, news reporter for KIMN/KYGO radio in Denver, and police officer, technician and sergeant on the Denver Police Department.
Donna is excited about serving the citizens of Mesquite again. She asks that you become involved in your government, and encourages the community to call or e-mail her with questions, ideas or concerns.
